The Killers, Jack White, The National, Paramore, Portugal. the Man to perform at Boston Calling Music Festival

 

Memorial Day weekend (May 25-27) brings New England's largest music festival back to Boston with the Boston Calling Music Festival. In the past years, this festival has seen notable artists such as Tool, Bastille, Beck, and Mumford and Sons as headlining acts. True to form, this year the Harvard Athletic Facility, site of this year's festival, will be hosting popular artists in the music industry once again!

Marshall Mathers III AKA Eminem returns to New England for the first time since 2005! Eminem has ten #1 albums on the Billboard charts and is one of the largest selling artists of the 21st century. He will be hitting the US Spring / Summer music festivals in support of his recent release, Revival, which features collaborations with Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, and Alicia Keys. His presence at Boston Calling has New England rap fans buzzing with excitement.

Also on the list is the critically acclaimed, Jack White. Jack White first gained fame with his two piece ensemble, The White Stripes, which formed in 1997. Later he formed the groups, The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather. Touring for the first time in almost four years, Jack White will be supporting his third solo album, "Boarding House Reach" which will be released in March.

The Killers will also be joining this star studded lineup. In September, originally from Las Vegas, the Killers released their 5th studio album, "Wonderful, Wonderful," which was their first studio release in 5 years. Impressively, each of their studio albums have reached #1 on the United Kingdom album charts.

Other big names bands who will be performing are Queens of the Stone Age, The National, Paramore, and many artists. Additionally, there will be a "Comedy & Entertainment" line up headed by Harvard graduate Natalie Portman including comedians and popular podcasters, Pod Save America.

The promoters of the event have taken steps to make the festival less "stressful" on guests. They will be adding two entrance lanes, high-speed Wi-Fi, and plentiful of food vendors. There will also be double the bars, bigger video screens, expanded merchandise area as well as other upgrades.

If you've never experienced Boston Calling, do yourself a favor and make your way to Beantown in May. You will not be disappointed!
