Permission To Come Aboard Desert Daze

You have been selected to take part in a psychonautical expedition from October 12th through the 14th on the multisensory planet of Desert Daze! West Coast's best psychedelic festival this year will be going down at Moreno Beach in Lake Perris. About one hour east of Los Angeles, Lake Perris is a whole hour closer than last year’s Joshua Tree location at The Institute of Metaphysics. Relocating Desert Daze grounds more west this year comes in favor for festival goers since the heat has been pretty gnarly lately. Breaking new ground, this year’s Desert Daze is nothing like you’ve ever experienced from a music festival. To beat the heat, this venue has one major and unique highlight, SWIMMING! Be sure to dive into some cool water in what’s expected to be 85° weather. Avoid staying in a hotel and take advantage of camping if you can, this place is absolutely stunning! Moreno Beach is a ethereal retreat tucked away from civilization and basically designed for escaping the stresses of society. With a lineup straight from heaven along with this gorgeous venue, these three days are sure to feel like a psychedelic utopia and you’ll probably never want to go back home.

We’re getting closer to those three magical days where we can all escape reality for a moment in a groovy paradise. The release of Phase I blew the minds of desert dazers everywhere. It all began with the perfect dose of inspirational artists such as, Warpaint, Pond, Malcolm Mooney of 70’s psych-rock band Can, and Tame Impala.  By the announcement of Phase II more artists including Death Grips, Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats, and Wand were thrown in the pot, creating a medley of even more insane talent. Once news broke out that King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard was joining the trip, this became the best festival of 2018.

Before Phase III was even broadcasted, this was already the type of lineup that could only be manifested by cosmic forces.  But how could this festival be any more otherworldly you ask? In the recent reveal of Phase III the hearts of many were tested with newly additions including, Opening Ceremonies, Escape-ism, Shallac, GUM, and the 90’s shoegaze-psyche legends, My Bloody Valentine. This is the first ever appearance of the holy trinity Tame Impala, Pond, and GUM. GUM is the solo-material of singer-songwriter, Jay Watson who is the known drummer and multi-instrumentalist of Tame Impala. One of the other most anticipated performances is My Bloody Valentine. MBV has been in the psychedelic rock scene, creating beautiful noise since 1987. Their track ‘Only Shallow’ and album ‘Loveless’ has influenced so many artists we listen to today. These guys are instrumental in the evolution of psychedelic music as we know it. MBV’s inclusion to Desert Daze only further ensures that this really might all be a dream, so let's all just hope that we wake up after the 14th.
