Echosmith: A Family Affair

Originally formed back in early 2009, Echosmith, solidified its prominence in the indie-pop realm with the release of their wildly successful hit, “Cool Kids.” The song reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was eventually certified double platinum in the United States with a staggering 1,200,000 sales in the U.S. alone. Just as impressive is the simple fact that the band is comprised almost entirely of siblings of the Sierota family. As originally formed back in 2009, the group consisted of Sydney Sierota, lead singer, along with brothers Noah Sierota, Graham Sierota, and Jamie Sierota.

However, in late 2016, brother Jamie ultimately left the group to pursue his role as father and husband in lieu of a musical career. Following his departure, the group stated: “We are still as passionate as ever to continue making music and sharing our new album with you soon. Thank you for your continual patience and support. We love you all and will see you soon!” Thereafter in September, 2017, the group released their latest EP Inside A Dream, followed by a three-song Christmas album, An Echosmith Christmas, and embarked on a tour for Spring 2018. The latest release that has received the most push for publicity is the 2018 single “Over My Head,” which has made its way to the top of the groups streaming pages. The group released several official remixes with the track including ones by Zookëper and MOTi.

During 2018, the group ventured through Houston and put on a performance for a lively audience in White Oak Music Hall’s downstairs room. Recently, the group has embarked on a major U.S. tour with Pentatonix and promises to put on an epic performance. Check out their tour schedule HERE.
