Boy Harsher and Eartheater sold-out show at The Glass House Pomona

Music fans arrived early in the afternoon for Boy Harsher’s sold-out show at The Glass House in Pomona, California. Outside of the venue were eager fans who began to line up at 4pm in their dark attire and eloquently designed make-up. The lineup for the night included performances by Lucy, Eartheater, and Boy Harsher.

EARTHEATER

Earthseater’s set began as her bandmate, dressed in edgy black attire, walked upon stage and began the show with performing electronic sounds on the keys. Alexandra Drewchin, known by her stage name, Eartheater shortly walked upon the stage and the audience shouted gleefully. The singer-songwriter sang emotionally into the microphone throughout her set. Drewchin’s heavenly vocals were one of the main instruments that evoked a forceful performance. Her voice ranges from soft to controlling during the performance of her songs.

She walked about the stage dancing to powerful upbeat melodies. She connected with her fans by singing closely to them and reaching out for their hands. She performed several songs sitting upon the speaker which mesmerized the audience. Joining Eartheater later during her set was a female drummer who performed dominantly and vigorously throughout each song. This added to the dynamic performance which continued to captivate the audience.

Eartheater will be performing alongside Björk, Sega Bodega, and Shygirl, Jlin and Mun Sing on May 10 under the K Bridge Park. For upcoming tour dates and more information, visit Eartheater’s bandcamp.

BOY HARSHER

The venue grew in capacity throughout the night as the show drew near to Boy Harsher’s set. Their stage setup included futuristic lighting equipment which lined the back wall, reminiscent of Star Wars. The Dark Wave duo walked onto the stage and the audience cheered. Boy Harsher was created by singer, Jae Matthews and multi-instrumentalist and music producer, Augustus Muller. Their Synth-Pop has quickly captured the attention of music festivals and gained the adoration of devoted fans since their 2016 album release, ‘Yr Body Is Nothing.’

As the ambient music began to play, Matthews motivated the audience to dance, commenting ‘I tell people at every show we are a dance group, and we want to see dancing.’ They performed various songs from their discography such as ‘Give Me a Reason,’ ‘Morphine,’ ‘Fate,’ and more! Their fans were entranced by their set and their eyes were glued to the main stage as they gawked at Boy Harsher’s mystifying live performance. Muller performed various instruments throughout their set from keys, flutes, and electronic drums while dancing to the beat. Matthews mentioned they had performed the weekend before at Coachella and were happy to be back in sunny Southern California.

They will be performing at Coachella music festival weekend two. For more upcoming tour dates and more information on Boy Harsher’s website.
