The Brian Jonestown Massacre bring Psychedelia and counterculture to The Observatory Orange County
San Francisco Psychedelic Rock group, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, brought Haight Ashbury and the hippie and counterculture of the 1960s to Orange County. It was a night to be seen, local Orange County skateboarders, surfers, and models entered the venue and mixed and mingled prior to the show. The venue was filled with music fans showing off their band merchandise and ecstatic about the upcoming show. The band’s family members crowded around the stage and enjoyed the show from the pit.
Overpowering the stage at the Observatory Orange County, the band members and their equipment were larger than life. The audience swayed and shook throughout their live set. The band’s fuzz sounds vibrated the walls of the dim lit venue. The groups synergy was seamless once Newcome called upon their drummer to follow the beat of their song performance. The group performed live renditions of fan favorites such as “Anenome,” “Pish,” and more!
The Brian Jonestown Massacre was formed in the 1990s in San Francisco, California by singer-songwriter and musician, Anton Newcombe. Newcome has also worked with bands such as ‘The Dandy Warhols.’ He is the main writer behind the group’s music over fifteen years and has composed over 150 tracks. He is also involved with the production and engineering of the music. Continuing the fruits of musical labor and adding to their extensive and prized discography, the group will be releasing two new albums, “Fire Doesn't Grow On Trees" and "The Future Is Your Past" are scheduled to be released later this year.
