Wynwood Life Festival

 

The Wynwood Life Festival welcomed a multitude of art, food, and music lovers this past weekend. This event was held on Friday, April 24 through Sunday, April 26th. Despite the weather, guests enjoyed the artistic event along with the various forms of live entertainment. This event was held at Mana Wynwood in Miami, Florida. Mana Wynwood is part of the creative hub of Miami's Design District. 

Guests participated in engaging activities and enjoyed the live entertainment such as fashion shows, live performances, and interactive booths. Upon entering the Wynwood Life Festival, the artist, Renda Writer, was creating his exclusive design on an electric blue Mini Cooper. He creates handwritten murals in Wynwood which are located at N'Namdi Contemporary Art.

Guests enjoyed the various options of live art and entertainment. They visited Alexander Mijares' Pop-Up art gallery which displayed colorful and vivid paintings. He designed the festival’s iconic and collectible poster. His style is inspired by the cities' history and vibrancy. Also, a percentage of the artist's proceeds from Wynwood Life Festival was contributed to the RAW Project. This project unites organizations and artists to improve Jose de Diego Middle School. Also, this project is a fundraiser for the Arts and Music Magnet Program at the Middle School. 

Penny's Dreamology featured collectible coasters and beautiful vintage clothing at Wynwood Life Festival. The artist, Anca Bettencourt, discussed her technique on creating these rock and roll inspired coasters. She transforms tiles into works of art by transferring iconic images. Also, she creates and sows the vintage clothing utilizing recycled materials.

The most interactive booth was provided by SWARM Event Agency. The Wynwood Culinary Showcase demonstrations were provided by skilled chefs from trendy South Florida restaurants. One of the demonstrations was provided by Chef Danny Serfer, from the restaurant, Mignonette. He demonstrated how to prepare and cook oysters. He demonstrated to the audience the appropriate form of preparing and cooking oysters. He showed the audience a french technique, "Sanje," which is adding flour. He informed the audience that this technique makes a thick paste for the oysters.

This innovative event featured an array of live musical performances by talented musicians and bands. The featured artists were AfroBeta, Spam Allstar, Suenalo, The Tremends, Danger Flow, Elastic Bond, and many others. 

Artists such as: Diana Contreras and Jenny Perez painted in the behind the scenes art gallery. The live painting was a captivating and engaging experience. Guests watched as the artist created their artwork from original conception into a masterpiece.

The Peroni Style Lounge featured fashionistas and their pop-up boutiques. The lounge provided several fashion shows throughout the weekend. The fashion shows were hosted by local boutiques, fashion bloggers, and stylists.
