The Insider to South Florida's III Points Art, Technology, and Music Festival

 

South Florida locals flocked to the highly visual and interactive music festival, III Points, in the heart of the Miami Design District at Mana Wynwood. The acclaimed music festival catches the attention of concert lovers in Florida and all across the United States. People travel to Miami, Florida to attend the innovative music festival which features visual artists, DJs, live music performances, hidden bars, and dance rooms. The headlining attractions at this year's festival were an art exhibition by Brian Eno and special performances by Gorillaz, the XX, Mile High Club, Thundercat, and a DJ battle between Kevin Parker(Tame Impala) vs Mark Ronson, producer.

Guests scattered across the festival grounds to enjoy the numerous facilities that contained dance rooms, hidden bars, and relaxation spots. The secret bar hosted by Redbull had extensive lines of eager and interested festival-goers. The  entrance was guarded with a bouncer who provided UNO tickets to festival goers to enjoy specialty Redbull cocktails. As guests entered the mysterious location, their eyes widened as they entered the tropical 70's Hawaiian themed bar. A female photographer took polaroid photos of party-goers and posted them on the floral wall covered in pictures of elated guests. A DJ provided dance tunes as guests moved around the bar and swarmed for a chance to try the list of Redbull drinks.

The festival also featured various areas for guests to dance such as a large pink-lighted warehouse with a bar and two DJs nearby to the hidden Hawaiin bar. There was another hidden bar area was a dim-light outdoor with roaring EDM beats. For guests that preferred to relax during the festival in between live sets, they rested inside the school bus beside the Dither stage which featured performances by local musicians and DJs. Also, the indoor art exhibition by Brian Eno provided guests with an oceanic setting to nap with calming ambient sounds and Cerulean lights. 

 

GORILLAZ

Music lovers crowded around the enormous outdoor stages for a chance to stand close for a front row view of the live music performances. The long awaited comeback of the Gorillaz drew an array of audiences as they performed on the first night of III Points. Damon Albarn welcomed various guest singers on stage to sing duets with Gorillaz' performances. Damon and singer, Kali Uchis, performed together, "She's My Collar," and she also performed, "Rush." United Kingdom's Indie Pop, The XX performed on the closing night of the festival. The audience was engrossed with their quizzical performance as they sang along to their captivating song lyrics. Accompanied by these headliners, riveting performances by Bonobo, Danny Brown, Thundercat, DJ Shadow, Mile High Club, Flying Lotus. The following local acts from South Florida participated at the festival: Anastasia Max, Deaf Poets, Grey 8s, Seafoam Walls, and Long Shore Drift. For more information on the music festival, visit iiipoints.com.
