Seaside music festival experience at HoC Festival with MGMT, Washed Out, Metronomy, Wild Belle, and more!
Music lovers gathered at Virginia Key Beach, Florida for a weekend of diverse musical acts at the House of Creatives Festival. The festival lineup included an array of musical genres ranging from Latin Rock, Jazz, Indie Rock, Experimental, Psychedelic Rock, Folk Rock, and Electronic music. Patrons enjoyed this outdoor festival for various entertainment options such as a visual art installment. sandy dance floor by the ocean, and local food, drink, and retail vendors. The first day of the festival was a sunny day filled with ecstatic concert-goers and energetic live music performances. Los Angeles' SIR SLY high-powered performance was not hindered despite experiencing technical difficulties. The group overcame the technical obstacles and overpowered the stage with their robust sounds and strong showmanship. The crowd waved their bright red styrofoam Smirnoff wands in the air to their roaring melodies.
During the adrenaline rush going through fans after their dynamic performance, Denmark's WhoMadeWho engaged the audience to dance and groove to their electronic foreign melodies. United Kingdom's Metronomy performances provided for a large dance floor in front of the stage. The audience sang and dance to their synth-infused tracks, "The Look," "The English Rivera," and "The Bay." Experimental Indie Rock group, alt-J, closed the eventful day with their artistic performance. The attentive audience was silent during their introductory songs as they watched the awe-inspiring performance filled with an extraterresial light show. Then they began to sing along to the whimsical lyrics of popular tracks such as "Dead Crush."

Extravagant performances were experienced by music lovers on the second day of the festival. Despite the torrential rain, guests endured the recurring storm throughout the day to enjoy gripping live music. South Florida's Psych-Rock group, Peyote Coyote, engrossed their audience with their forceful melodies. The group recently relocated to Austin, Texas to pursue their musical career. They are currently performing shows weekly in the Texas music capital while working on new music. Nevada's Surf Curse performed after their riveting set, the mighty duo performed high-strung Surf Rock tunes. Their potent melodies swallow the listener in a whirlwind of heavy rock and roll. The eye-catching acts that preceded left the audience longing for more live music.
Chicago natives' Wild Belle graced the stage in their exquisite designer attire. Their entrancing stage setup was reminiscent of New Orleans' Voodoo Fest with dark purple lighting which left spellbinding mystery. The audience was whisked away by Wild Belle's Reggae-Psych-Pop as Natalie Bergman sang loudly in her bewitching voice. Atlanta's Washed Out dazzled audiences with his enormous light projections of mixed media artwork. The background coincided with the musical production of the chill wave electronic tracks. MGMT made their long awaited comeback to South Florida for their upcoming album release. They performed their latest track, "Little Dark Age," along with classic hits such as "KIDS." Their extraordinary performance left the audience in an uproar. However, their enthralling performance was sadly cut short due to the extreme weather conditions.
House of Creatives Music Festival provided an ideal South Florida festival experience with a beach setting to experience live performances by acclaimed acts and rising artists. Music lovers comfortably roamed the festival grounds enjoying local food vendors and sipping on Redbull cans, Becks beer, or Smirnoff's specialty cocktails.
