For Ohana Festival attendees, Sunday was filled with an exciting line-up of live musical performances which included The Aquadolls, Suki Waterhouse, The Backseat Lovers, the Pretenders, and the Foo Fighters. Many fans showed up sporting their best band tee merch!

SUKI WATERHOUSE

On the Ohana stage, Suki Waterhouse emerged wearing the sassiest patent leather pants and a stunning rhinestone top. Waterhouse began her set with a fan favorite hit single, Moves from her 2022 album, I Can’t Let Go. Gracefully dancing across the stage, she captivated the audience with her lyrical vocals. Inspired by her long-term romantic relationship, Waterhouse’s dedication was felt by the audience in her new song, To Love. Suki Waterhouse is a multi-talented artist and is most recently recognized for her acting performance in the hit series, Daisy Jones and The Six. The Backstreet Lovers

Fans were excited to see The Backseat Lovers as the singer, Joshua Harmon announced that it was their second time performing at the festival. Originally formed in Utah in 2018, the group has had quick success since their debut album Waiting To Spill. The members, Joshua Harmon, Jonas Swanson, Juice Welch, and KJ Ward charmed the audience with their songs Growing/Dying, Kilby Girl, Sinking Ship, and many more! Their 55 minute performance was filled with a nostalgic 70’s vibe as Harmon played a wonderfully decorated acoustic guitar and a classically weathered Fender. Harmon’s groovy melodies and folk rock vocals swayed the audience during their Still a Friend performance. Since signing with Capitol Records in 2022, The Backseat Lovers have released several music videos and will continue their 2023 tour as a supporting act for the Arctic Monkeys this October. It is very likely you will be hearing more from The Backseat Lovers! Check out their website for more tour information.

The Pretenders

As the sun began to set, the countdown was on for fans who have been waiting all weekend to see the Pretenders and the Foo Fighters. The beer garden lines were filled as folks grabbed one last beer before taking their seats. At 6:10 pm, the Pretenders hit the Ohana stage for their 1 hour performance. The legendary Chrissie Hynde opened the show with the group’s new single, Losing My Sense of Taste. It is safe to say that Hynde needs no formal introduction as her distinctive voice and heavy guitar tone has attracted Pretender fans for years.

Her legendary songs, Back on the Chain Gang and I’ll Stand By You have transcended generations as the Ohana audience passionately sang along with her. Not only did she sing and shred the guitar, Hynde’s bluesy harmonica solo during Middle of the Road, wow’d the crowd. From start to finish, the Pretenders brought rock n roll to Orange County.

It has been a busy year for the Pretenders as they recently released their newest record, Relentless and have been actively touring. In 2024, the Pretenders will be touring as special guests with the Foo Fighters for several North American shows. For more tour dates and merchandise check out their website for details.

Grohl introduced the band’s encore with a statement of gratitude to the fans who have continued to show their support over the years. In an epic finale, Everlong closed yet another fantastic year at Ohana Festival in Dana Point!
