Pink Floyd to debut their 'Their Mortal Remains' exhibition in Los Angeles

Fans of 60s counterculture, psychedelic rock, and the music of Pink Floyd will enjoy their experience at ‘The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains exhibition’ in Los Angeles, California. The exhibit will highlight Pink Floyd’s music and the group’s everlasting influence on art, design, music, and modern culture. The exhibition will begin on September 3rd at the Vogue Multicultural Museum on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. Guests will enjoy psychedelic artwork, retro designs, and musical history celebrating Pink Floyd.

Curated by the members of Pink Floyd and Aubrey Powell, the musical exhibition will honor the group’s music career and feature over 350 collectibles. The exhibit will provide a captivating never before seen glimpse of musical history. Guests will enjoy walking through the exhibit and admiring vintage memorabilia such as artwork, handwritten lyrics, instruments, and more! These pieces of Pink Floyd’s history have been collected by the band members and gathered from studios. The Los Angeles exhibit will also feature the psychedelic lighting design utilized by Pink Floyd’s live performances from their inception in the early 1960s.

Also, highlighted is original artwork by founding member, Syd Barrett. A London art student, Barrett devoted his innovative music genius, product vision, and insightful lyrics to the early Pink Floyd image, live show, songwriting, and albums. His original paintings and sketches and a replica of his Fender guitar will be displayed.

Surrounded by in depth music history, Los Angeles is the ideal location to host the exhibition due to Pink Floyd’s musical history that took place in the city. For example, ‘The Wall’ was mixed and mastered in Los Angeles, California. Also, in the 1980s, Pink Floyd kicked off the first of their 31 live performances at the Memorial Sports Arena.

Technology embraced by the forward thinking artists will be featured such as musical instruments used by the artists during their studio records on albums such as ‘The Dark Side of the Moon,’ and ‘Wish You Were Here.’

A gallery of staple artwork that represents Pink Floyd will be featured such as the iconic album cover for ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon,’ the first drawing of the group for a comic book, and album covers such as the flying pig for their ‘Animals’ album. The exhibition will also feature creative theatrical visuals and stage props from live concert performances. Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall’ album will be commemorated with sketches for album artwork, mannequins, and inflatables from tour dates.
