BEACH GOTH 2018: BACK IN THE HANDS OF THE GROWLERS & ANOTHER UNFORGETTABLE YEAR

The drama is over and Beach Goth officially belongs to The Growlers again! They introduced the world to Beach Goth festival back in 2012 and it has grown more massive every year since. Previous Beach Goths held some big names including King Krule, Alice Glass, Die Antwoord, and who could forget that beautiful moment it started raining during Future Islands in 2016?! Last year’s monumental performances by Girl Talk, The B-52’s, Modest Mouse, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs, were more iconic performances in Beach Goth history. This year, you may have experienced a little Beach Goth deja-vu, since many artists this year have performed this festival before. For La Luz, The Drums, The Voidz, and the classic duo Jonathan Richman & Tommy Larkin, this 7th Beach Goth was not their first.

BEACH GOTH VII 2018: CALIFORNIA’S MOST WICKED FESTIVAL OF THE YEAR

Halloween is coming a little early this year ghouls and fools! Since 2012, The Growlers have been performing and headlining their own spook-takular socal festival, Beach Goth and they’re doing it again on August 5th at Los Angeles State Historic Park. Don’t worry, costumes are still encouraged! This year’s lineup includes stellar performances from Starcrawler, GWAR, Doug E. Fresh, Bleached as The Ramones and many more! There are also a few familiar Beach Goth faces such as The Drums, La Luz, The Voidz and of course the boogeymen themselves—The Growlers!

The Growlers Six LA Waterfront Music Festival

The name may be new but the tradition is still very much alive. The Growlers have given us a sixth festival in a row despite all the setbacks. They’ve committed themselves to carrying on something that many fans look forward to come Halloween. Lineups often include punk throwbacks like The Adicts and The Dickies, old-school respected rap artists like GZA and Del the Funky Homosapien, and classic 90’s throwbacks like The Violet Femmes and TLC. The legendary acts and good times continue to remain, while leaving behind the concerns of Beach Goths in the past.

Southern Californian group, The Growlers, performed a magnetic show at the Music Farm in Charleston, South Charleston. The group's signature “Beach Goth” style combines several genres: Psychedelic, Surf, and Garage Rock. They released their fifth studio album, “City Club,” on September 30th.
