Enriching Seafood Experience

 

South Florida Food lovers enjoyed an abundance of fresh seafood at The Coconut Grove Seafood Festival. Guests flourished in the food selection for the launch of stone crab season. For the third year in a row, organizers arranged an event which provided an array of seafood vendors offering various types of seafood. The diverse seafood selection included shrimp, oysters, craw fish, lobster, stone crab, fish and clams. The event was held on Sunday, October 18th at 11:00 am at Peacock Park, Coconut Grove, Florida.

The Casablanca Fish Market had an abundance of imported fish which guests selected and purchased to take home after the festival. The Kitchen Lab featured cooking preparations by notable South Florida restaurants including Chef John Iatrellis (Lure Fish Bar), Chef Michael Cerny (Truluck’s), Oscar del Rivero (Jaguar Ceviche Spoon) and Chef Christopher Cramer (Panorama Restaurant). The Shipwrecked Oyster Lounge offered live oyster shucking and bites by Chef John Iatrellis and cocktails by Rob Ferrara. This lounge was provided by The Rum Line and Lure Fishbar.

The festival was a family friendly event which provided various interactive playgrounds for children. Children enjoyed playing in the huge inflatable shark and lobster. Numerous guests selected the exclusive VIP experience for a specialty items and accommodations. Guests in the VIP section enjoyed complimentary cocktails and appetizers. The appetizers were prepared by The Pincho Factory. They served plentiful of mixed ceviche, seafood pasta, conch fritters, seafood croquettes, and seafood paella. Guests gawked as the seafood paella was being cooked. The chef prepared a large basin of seafood with yellow rice which was a mouth-watering sight. Also, they enjoyed an open bar with unlimited mixed drinks, mojitos, and Budweiser beer. The VIP area offered a seating area and comfortable standing area with bar tables under a large tent with air-conditioned bathrooms. 

The Coconut Grove Seafood Festival provided live music and entertainment. The musical performances varied in music styles including Calypso, Steel Drum, Island Escapism and Reggae. Also, the festival featured several themed exhibitors showcasing art, jewelry and home décor.
